What is Slack?

Slack is a web application many companies use to communicate with their teams – think of it as instant messenger for the modern day. You can also download the app on your phone or computer for easy access.

Why should I join the AMA Colorado Slack?

In our increasingly virtual world, our team wanted to find a new way to connect our members outside of our virtual events. Our rockstar Community team created our Members Only Slack channel to do just that. As a member, you can use this as your one-stop-shop for all things AMA Colorado related (new events, volunteer openings, and more!), as well as networking with fellow Colorado marketers.

We have a variety of channels to help you find any information you need, and no topic is too small to share!

Announcements: Important announcements from the AMA Colorado Board
Introduce-yourself: Share your bio and connect with other members
Marketing-topics-and-trends: Discussion board for all things marketing
Job-board: Post a job, or post that you're looking!
Coffee-break: Chat about literally anything that you'd normally chat about around the coffee pot!
Meet-marketers: New feature! Join in for weekly 1:1, virtual coffees with other AMA members!

Plus, you can send direct messages to other members if you want to take your discussion outside the main channels. Read more about our new Slack channel format here!

What if I've never used Slack before?

No worries. Watch the video below and read through some quick trainings. You'll be a pro in no time!

Worried about getting too many notifications during the work day?

We know productivity is important during the work week. To make sure you aren't getting too many notifications from our channels, head to Preferences > Notification Settings and make any adjustments there (see screenshots below for reference). You can even set a schedule where Slack won't notify you during certain hours!

Want to stay in the know (or mute) in specific channels?

Head to the channel you want to adjust, click the ⓘ near the top right, and select "Change Notifications" to adjust your settings.
