It’s time to “Re-Engage” Colorado’s Marketing Community

Although this has been an unprecedented time full of plenty of ups and downs, it’s clear that Colorado’s marketing community is strong, resilient and ready to engage. That’s why this year our board is focused on the theme of engagement -- specifically “re-engagement.”

Dear AMA Colorado Members and Marketing Community,

Like most of you, I’m ready to put the complexities of the past year behind me. While many of us are ready to move forward, it’s clear that the Delta variant has plans of its own. Although this has been an unprecedented time full of plenty of ups and downs, it’s clear that Colorado’s marketing community is strong, resilient and ready to engage. That’s why this year our board is focused on the theme of engagement -- specifically “re-engagement".

So how will we manage?

As stewards of the local marketing community, our role as the AMA Colorado board is to stay connected and understand what marketing professionals want from their local chapter. We then need to do our best to provide these benefits, and remain flexible and ready to operate in a safe and responsible manner no matter what comes our way.

Here’s how we propose moving forward:
  • Developing new ways to connect with our membership and our community - AMA Colorado has a unique opportunity to provide a bridge between our members, businesses and the organizations that support us. This year, we hope to reintroduce AMA Colorado to the local marketing community, expand our reach and grow our brand awareness, through a series of planned initiatives, campaigns, and hybrid indoor and outdoor events. If you’re a business that is in need of marketing talent or looking to partner to broaden your reach, tell us how we can help you meet these objectives. If you’re a marketing professional in need of training, someone to lean on or a new position, or simply looking to grow your network by volunteering, be sure to connect with us. We’ll be sharing a survey soon where we hope to gather your feedback so that we can find ways to better serve you.

  • Ensuring diversity and inclusion are more than simply checking a box - I’m a firm believer that for any organization to meet its fullest potential, different voices, backgrounds, genders, ethnicities and perspectives need to be represented, but also respected and heard. This is a year-round commitment, and as such our Programming team is working on creating a series of DEI focused educational events. We are currently also recruiting a head of DEI to lead our overarching approach as an organization. Please reach out to me via this form if you know of anyone who might be interested in the role or would like to learn more.

  • Offering continued opportunities for interaction - AMA Colorado is known for its incredible events (says the gal who has been a member of the Programming team since the beginning of her time on the board), and it’s the core of many of our initiatives. Our team is in the process of developing a plan to reintroduce a combination of in-person, hybrid as well as fully online events. As with last year, we will work to ensure that our calendar is flexible to easily adjust to the needs of our community and our partners. Please reach out to us if you have any topics or ideas you’d like to share,or if you’d like to donate a venue, indoors or out, or if you know of amazing speakers you’d like to put forward.

While remembering that we are still in a year of transition, we aim to accomplish all of the above in a manner that is both socially and fiscally responsible.

I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing organization that welcomed me when I first moved to Colorado four years ago. If there is anything I can do for you or if you have an idea to share - no matter how large or small - I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks again!
