The last six months have presented many challenges for our chapter to navigate: from transitioning to virtual events, to launching our new website and finding new ways to add value to your AMA Membership. Our team has been working to find innovative ways to connect Colorado Marketers and Business Professionals as we all navigate a constantly changing world in an unprecedented time.

Here's what we accomplished in the first half of our Board year:

  • Launched a Members Only Slack channel

The quick move from in-person to virtual provided us with an opportunity to engage our members in new ways. We brought on a Director of Community Engagement (Trevor Loeschen) who has been integral to the creation and success of this initiative.

  • Created new, fun virtual events

From Marketing for a Mission, to webinars, and unique networking events our events team has worked to find new ways to engage with our community. We partnered with local distillery, Rocker Spirits, to teach a cocktail class as part of our Meet the Board networking event in August. Then we closed out 2020 with a fun-filled game of Family Feud hosted in partnership with The Marketing Alliance and PRSA. 2021 will have may more fun events coming!

  • Support for local Colorado nonprofits

Not only did we help nonprofit organizations through our Marketing for a Mission event, but we also began to offer many of our events at no cost to the attendee. Instead, we encouraged participants to donate to Food Bank of the Rockies. We will continue to prioritize this in the next few months as we strive to help our local Colorado community through a continued unprecedented time.

  • Support for our Colorado Marketing Community

We know 2020 was a crazy, unique, whirlwind year. Large numbers of marketers lost their jobs, and many others found themselves trying to change career paths in the middle of a pandemic. To help our community, we partnered with Blue Onion Media and Catalyst Marketing Agency to bring you a collection of career tools that can help you gain a competitive edge in an unstable market. Our Level-Up Marketer Skill Grant is open for applications through February 28, 2021! Submit your information here to be considered for one of our grant options.

In the next six months, here's what you can expect from our team:

  • More great events!

In the next few months, we'll be sharing more information around our Virtual Job Fair, new Webinars, workshops and more! These events will be a great way to continue networking, learning, and improving your skill sets while remaining safe during the pandemic. Want to get updates on upcoming events? Be sure to sign up for our weekly newsletter or follow along on social!

  • A new structure to our Members Only Slack channel

Initially, we launched our Members Slack Channel with a simple structure to create a basic way for members to connect. As our community began to engage, we recently restructured these channels so content and information is easier for our members to find information and network with each other. Read more about this new structure here!

  • New, relevant content

The team at AMA Colorado strives to be a resource for marketing and business professionals in our community. As the local and national climate continues to shift, our goal is to help aggregate useful resources to help you navigate the world of marketing. Keep an eye out for new content in the coming months!

As always, we are grateful for our team, members, and all of the Colorado business community for the role they play.

Cheers to another great year!
